On May 19, Local 44 Business Agent Ed Brown filed, with the Local, internal charges against Local 44 members Tom Ceglia and Frank Pope. In his charges, Brother Brown, alleges that Brother Ceglia and Brother Pope violated several provisions of the Local 44’s Constitution and By-Laws.

On May 19, Local 44 Assistant Business Agent Carl Hicks filed, with the Local, internal charges against Local 44 members Jode Mann and John Frantz. In his charges, Brother Hicks, alleges that Sister Mann and Brother Frantz violated several provisions of the Local 44’s Constitution and By-Laws.

At an Executive Board meeting held on 05/20/09 the first reading of these charges was performed and, as the charges met all procedural requirements, cognizance was taken.

Yesterday, April 19, 2009, the Screen Actors Guild National Board of Directors voted to approve and recommend to members the two-year successor agreements to the 2005 contract.

It's always a good time win the home team wins.
Saturday night was no exception. The sold out crowd included one hundred and fifty Local 44 members, who were treated to an exciting evening of baseball. "Manny" Ramirez was in great form with 2 home runs, one for 3 runs and another for 2 runs. Matt Kemp walloped another HR for 2 runs. All this power hitting helped the Dodgers to a 10-7 win over the San Francisco Giants. Everyone had a great time, it was wonderful to see all of the brothers and sisters with family and friends. Fathers, mothers, children and grandparents partaking in one of America's most loved pastimes, building memories under the banner of Local 44.
